When I was 8 years old my mom took me to my very first Shakespeare play. I’ve been in love with both theater and Shakespeare ever since! I think a big part of that was how much preparation she put into it making sure I knew the story and what to expect. (Maybe I should write a whole post about how to get your kids to love Shakespeare lol)
I was also very lucky that my first experience was at a Shakespeare Festival with an incredible reputation worldwide. (Love you OSF❤️)
Obviously Shakespeare’s plays are timeless stories. I will happily go see the same play over and over again each time in awe of how every production is different. Which is why I’m also on board with watching every film adaptation made as well.
Whether it’s changing the location, the time, the emphasis on a different character; no adaptation is ever the same. It’s always interesting though about how the themes of current times can affect current takes on the core of the story.
And there’s no better way to wonder where Shakespeare is at these days then to watch all of the most recent screen adaptations from the last decade!😉

If you know of a streaming site I don’t have listed for any of these movies please leave a comment or send me a message so I can add it. Let’s help each other out right now😀
