I love the color pink. It’s always been a favorite of mine (and my mom! that’s def where I get it from!) but for a while I kind of tried to distance myself from it. I feel like a lot of us who grew up liking things that weren’t traditionally *girly* were put in a position where we felt like we had to prove it. and that meant no pink, or makeup, or things like that.
I’ve had this convo with a lot of friends later on in life and we all had the same experience so I think it was a ~millennial~ thing were girls weren’t expected to be one certain way, but you also couldn’t be all the things at once. You had to pick- were you girly, sporty, etc. and that was it.
Now I see this actually being talked about which is so so great!! I love that people growing up now are being told it’s okay to have varied interest. Realizing and accepting that I can both love going to sporting events AND caring about what I wear to them was a huge part of figuring out who I am as a person.
This post has been planned for a while because I realized I have maybe too many pairs of pink shoes but then there was that weird viral thing on twitter with someone trying to make fun of a girl taking pics at a baseball game and it brought up all my ~feelings~ about the color pink and how girls are still viewed in categories.
So now to the real point of this😊 There are some staple styles you need for shoes as the sun comes out for Summer. (honestly I’m just impressed with the number of ‘S’s in that sentence👏) And there’s no good reason for you NOT to get them all in PINK!! I’ve put together my 5 favorite styles with lots of options!
I’ve already talked SO much about my love of these adidas sneakers but that’s because they’re one of the best shoes I’ve ever owned. In fact my pair are so worn & dirty that I went and got my mom’s pair for the picture of all them😂 This is definitely where to start though for a pair of pink shoes that will get you through EVERY season.
Wedges are the absolute best for when you want to look ~put together~ but without the worry of falling over all the time. Seriously, wedges are my cheat code for all the summer events. If you want to keep it a little more casual having a floral print is SO fun and versatile. I’ve had my pair for I think 4 years now and it’s always so easy to pair with outfits.
The simplest, and most worn option of Summer. I prefer a strappy sandal because I think they’re fun and also because I’m probably going to end up running in them for some reason so I need them attached to me. Plus it’s always cute! These Sam Edelman’s in the pic are BRAND NEW & under $30! I’ve only worn them once but they were awesome strolling through a farmer’s market.
It’s graduation season–and wedding season–and vacation season. Whether you like it or not, you need a good pair of heels🤷 I love my simple blush pair, they’re subtle and fancy enough that they can work with literally every outfit for any occasion. Also, the three straps means I won’t fall out of them which is always nice. Block heels are also a life-saving option!!
(p.s. this outfit was recently #ontheblog)
I don’t really like walking in slides….I do like to go fast and they can’t always keep up😬 but there’s no denying how incredible it feels to simply slide them on and leave the house. Convenience and ease will always be worth it. Generally I go for casual with slides but there are some really fancy looking options! I don’t have them yet but the Bearpaws look like the most comfortable shoe ever created. I’m in love.
Let me know in the comments which style if your favorite for Summer!
