We’ve done the casual Christmas thing the last few days here on Carefree & Coffee, with these Red Joggers and fun Christmas PJ’s. But the holiday’s aren’t all about cuddling up at home so today were talking about a more dressy style option for all those other events!
Whether it’s church, parties, a show, or even nice dinner’s you can never really go wrong with a dress & over-the-knee boots. To get in the holiday spirit though it’s fun to mix some colors that may not work any other time of the year. Olive is everywhere right now which makes it a perfect green to have in your closet.
I’ve had this shift dress for a year now & keep finding different reasons to wear it. Tossing on a red scarf and gold jacket makes it super easy to look like a complete ‘look’ without too much fuss, and keeps me warm! Always the most important.
SHOP THIS LOOK:
We’re in this weird stretch where it’s SUPER cold out but also we might break a record for days in-a-row that it doesn’t rain in December(such a Seattle thing). I think we might be the only ones having a cold stretch though right now and it’s driving me crazy! My years in the Southwest have left me completely unable to judge how many layers I’ll need.
I can’t complain too much thought because usually we don’t see the sun for months so I guess you win some, you lose some.

I’m typically not a fan of red or green (or the combo of both) but you pull the colors off SO WELL. I’m so jealous lol. And those boots are amazing!
I love a great shift dress for any season! It makes it so easy to mix and match with accessories to create a great look for any occasion!
