It’s the last Friday of the month which means it’s time for some August favorites!! This month is always my favorite time of the year. It’s warm, it’s sunny, and best of all-it’s time for my birthday 🙂 (the 30th so we haven’t celebrated yet, don’t worry!)
While baseball isn’t on this list, I have been watching it a ton lately. I’ve got too many favorite teams in races this year! Let’s be totally honest though, I’d happily just watch baseball all day, every day, even if all my teams sucked. Thankfully it’s been super good this season. And absolutely let me know in the comments if you saw the brawl yesterday because that whole Yankees/Tigers game was incredible!
Anyways let’s get back to the point of this post 🙂
1. Kong: Skull Island
I was so so sad when I didn’t have a chance to see this movie in the theater. The trailer looked great & it had a bunch of actors I love so it was the perfect formula to get me hooked. I finally got it this month(thanks mom!) & watched it right away.
It was even better than I had prepared for!! Action will always be my favorite genre, and it played it very well, but it also had the perfect blend of seriousness, story, a sprinkled in humor. Normally I’m on my computer or doing something else while I watch a show/movie but this one had my full attention the whole time. I highly recommend this movie for anyone who just wants a good classic movie experience!

2. Guess Aviator Sunglasses
I wear sunglasses all the time, so I need lots of different pairs to mix and match with outfits. A classic pair of gold aviators are such a great staple pair to have! But I found myself without them for a while and not willing the spend the money on a new pair of Ray-Bans. Then just a couple days ago I was at Nordstrom Rack and found this pair for $30! Simple and exactly what I was looking for.

3. S’well Water Bottle
I’ve talked about this brand on here before but I’ve now had my bottle for a full year, and I still love it just as much as when I first got it! I’ll probably be asking for another one either for my birthday or Christmas this year simply because they’re so cute!
Staying hydrated is sooo important to me. That means I carry around a water bottle wherever I go. S’well bottles work incredibly well at keeping water fresh and cool for hours & hours. They’re also really sturdy which means it can handle whatever I put it through. The insulation also works for heat which means one bottle can switch between coffee and water throughout the day.

4. Coral Blanket & Pillow
Putting my office together has been a slow process because I want everything in it to be perfect from the start. Although I started in the winter, with a coral and mint theme, I wasn’t able to do a lot of the decorating until Summer came along. This blanket & pillow combo was a totally lucky find just from wandering around TJ Maxx. I love the pom-pom details!!
Unfortunately I can’t find this exact set online but there are still a ton of coral options to choose from. It’s such a perfect color to decorate any room with!

5. August Playlist
This month I haven’t been listening to too much new music, which means I’ve been diving deep into my ipod with over 2.4k songs. I always love just sticking it on shuffle and being reminded of songs I used to love or artists I haven’t listened to recently. That means this month’s playlist is a bit of a throwback mix. But there are a few new ones because artists like Pink will ALWAYS have my heart. What About Us is a total sad jam.

Pretty coral blanket and pillow. 🙂 And I too am addicted to my water bottle. My husband was commenting the other day that he doesn’t think he’s met another girl who is so attached to her water. I figure, there could be worse things I could be doing. 🙂
Glad to hear that Pink is one of your favs! I so agree 😊😊 luckily I was able to see her life a few weeks ago and I reviewed the concert. which you can read on my blog. 🙈 sorry didn’t mean to ad my blog… Anyway back to the post. I really love the idea of monthly favourites and that bottle looks brill!!
I LOVE swell water bottles! They are magic. Also, Pink will forever be a huge music staple in my life. Growing up with her and hearing her music now is the absolute best. I love that you do a line up of favorites! Great idea.
Cute favs! I still need to see Kong, happy to hear it was entertaining. And my aviators are my go-to sunglasses, great choice!
Oh my! This blankie pillow combo looks sooooo cozy! And I love the coral color!
My husband and I just got KONG! its so good!
I’ve been eyeing swell bottles because they’re so cute! i have a HUGE hydroflask that i’m trying to retire at the moment LOL
Glad you shared your thoughts on Skull Island. I wasn’t interested in watching it but hubby really wants to so I guess we’ll check it out. Love your sunnies too!!
I was a little iffy about seeing Kong: Skull Island because I wasn’t sure if I’d like it but it was so good, it really really surprised me!

I saw Skull Island in the theaters and thought it was great but then I love Kong stories. Playlist looks great too, I need some new songs
Good to know Skull Island is worth watching, it seemed like it came and went out of the theaters so I wasn’t sure! I love King Kong though, so now I’ll give it a watch.
Those sunglasses are stunning and I was shocked to see how cheap they were! Especially with such a great brand!
I looove love love that water bottle! Thanks for putting that on my wishlist 😉
I love Swell bottles! I think they are a little harder to clean than other bottles, but they stay the coldest!
I’m loving that sunglasses and coral blanket! Perfect list here 🙂
What a great list! Especially the playlist. I love the look of the blanket and pillow set.
Wow 30 for aviators from guess is a pretty sweet deal. Love action movies too x
Kong was a really good movie. I didn’t have high expectations going in but I was pleasantly surprised with the plot!
