In my never-ending quest to beat always being cold, warm beverages are a staple in my winter diet. I can even tell when the weather is about to change because I start craving hot buttered rum and all these warm sugary drinks that I never think of otherwise.
Every evening is made soo much better when I have something to sip and heat me up!! But I don’t want to always be stuck with one thing, there is such thing as too much hot chocolate.
One of the best parts of making this hot buttered rum is that you whip up a huge batch in like 5 minutes and then it just sits in the freezer ready to go whenever you want it, whether you need enough for one mug or a whole house. Since the mix is already made all that’s left is scooping out a tablespoon into a mug and adding hot water.
And for the adults, add a shot of rum to make it a true evening treat!
This recipe doesn’t even pretend to be healthy in any way. It’s one of the few truly unhealthy things we have but since you only have a small bit, it’s not too bad. Plus if there’s ever a time for sugar overload it’s definitely the holiday season!
